Zimbabwe’s First Lady Grace Mugabe has handed herself over to South African police following claims of assault.
Mrs. Mugabe allegedly assaulted 20-year-old model Gabriella Engels because she was partying with her sons Robert Jr, 25, and Chatunga, 21, over the weekend.
According to South Africa’s Police Minister Fikile Mbalula, the 52-year-old First Lady handed herself over to police in Johannesburg on Tuesday, August 15.
Gabriella Engels claimed that she was visiting the couple’s sons, Robert Jr, 25, and Chatunga Bellarmine, 21, at a hotel in Sandton on Sunday night when Mrs Mugabe burst into the room and assaulted her and two of her friends with the plug of an extension cord.
“We were chilling in a hotel room,” Ms Engels said, “She came in and started hitting us. The front of my forehead is busted open. I make my money based on my looks.”

Engels opened an assault charge against Mrs. Mugabe. She captioned the photo: “What is a girl compared to a women beating you and 10+ body guards standing back leaving her to do this s***?”
In a subsequent tweet, she wrote: “She split my head open in 3 places with an extension cord and used the plug to hit me.”
