A plus-size woman who featured in steamy engagement shoot with her new fiancé has claimed she was fired from her job at a bank as a result.
Stephanie and Arryn stripped off to pose for their photographer friend Bria Terry in celebration of their engagement.
When Terry posted them on Facebook, they were shared more than 85,000 times in a show of support for body positivity.
Stephanie, from Texas, USA, says she used to not like her stomach but has now embraced her body, especially after all of the incredible reactions she has had from people everywhere.
But the joy over the photographs receiving such a good reception has been short-lived as Stephanie claims that, shortly after the photos went viral, she lost her job.
She told BuzzFeed that Austin Bank Texas N.A. were “concerned” about the number of of people who would see the images – and how they would reflect on the company.
Stephanie said: “They said I was topless and it was inappropriate and we’re a family-oriented company.”
She argued that she was wearing swimsuit bottoms and a strapless top – the kind designed to wear with backless dresses.
Stephanie claims the company then let her go.
To make matters worse, the couple have just found out they are expecting a baby boy.
“There was no defending myself, they had made their decision,” she said.
“I gave over a year to a company that I worked really hard for and then to have them turn on me for doing something so positive, something that I was so proud of — to help myself as a woman — it was hurtful.
“People were pulling out their phones at work and showing the pictures and that was blamed on me.”
She told BuzzFeed that she had been a ‘model employee’ and the decision was “disheartening” because, to her, “home life and work life are two totally different things.”
